Hold Successful Parties with Ease using marGo

Hold Successful Parties with Ease using marGo (1)

Before I was a trainer at Step Into Success, I spent two decades building a successful direct sales business. (I started when I was 12, of course!) So I understand the joys and challenges. When building any business there are going to be those times when your business is thriving and other times when it's barely surviving.

If I could pin point the one thing that determined whether I was feeling confident or overwhelmed, it boils down to systems. When I had systems in my business, things worked, they clicked, they had momentum. Whether it was a system for coaching my hosts, sharing the opportunity or training new consultants, if I had a plan and did that process over and over, my business was moving in the right direction. Your company's training center, your leaders, and direct sales experts like Belinda Ellsworth, are all great resources for learning the best systems for your business.

So if systems help you experience growth, confidence and momentum, then why not stick with them? Sometimes systems change because they need to. What used to work may not work for today. Other times I wasn’t as focused or simply lazy. Or, I’d start to cut corners, because I would tell myself a certain step in the system, such as mailing invitations for my hosts, wasn’t necessary.

The good news is that I would never stay in that place. It was just a matter of figuring out where I needed improvement, getting focused, finding a solution, and moving forward. And that’s really what brought me to marGo. I had stopped mailing invitations for my hosts and gone completely digital. So instead of postcard invites, I was helping my hosts invite guests in 3 ways… by email, text and Facebook.

This worked to some degree, but it was VERY time consuming on my part. In fact, it was one of the reasons why I stopped sending postcards. I felt I was already spending too much time on each show. I was creating an email invitation, creating an image that the host could text to her guests and setting up Facebook events. Each time, I was typing the host information and show information not to mention all of the graphics I had to create and technology I had to use. Even when I thought my system was working, it wasn’t duplicatable for my team. And over time I saw a HUGE drop in party attendance and outside orders. So I signed up for marGo out of desperation. I needed a better system.

So what happened after I joined marGo?

Nothing.

Surprised?

Truth be told… I joined, looked at the website for two seconds, decided I didn’t have time to change anything and went right back to what I was doing. Yes, I pretty much did nothing with it for the first few months. Does this story sound familiar?

Like anything else, it takes time to learn something new. And it takes commitment to overcome that resistance to change. Once I logged back in a few months later and started setting up shows, I wanted to kick myself. It took so much less time than I anticipated to learn how to use it and see the results. Because we all want MORE business and LESS stress in our life and that’s exactly what marGo was able to do for me.

We've had a lot of people contact Step Into Success wanting to know more about marGo and how to utilize it in their business. Here are seven features and tips that I discussed in detail on a live interview with marGo this past week. To access the interview, CLICK HERE.

1.  Ask your host how they typically communicate with their friends. As Paula Brockner, an upper level direct sales leader for 23 years, pointed out in a previous interview, this is crucial so you can focus on using the invitation methods that will best serve your host. (CLICK HERE to listen to Paula's interview.)

2. Don't underestimate the value of a mailed invitation. Gone are the days when everyone checks their email, not everyone texts and Facebook invites are ignored. Sending a gorgeous, professional invitation in the mail is going to get the guest's attention, feel more personal and most definitely increase attendance at your parties.

3. Get your hosts on board with using marGo from the start. Paint a picture with your host by explaining how special their guests will feel when they get that postcard in the mail. You also want to share how EASY it will be for them to create a guest list with marGo and that when they complete that task, that you will take care of everything else!

4. Take time to understand the host experience when using marGo. I simply set up myself as a host using a different email address so I could go through the process myself. Another way to see how it all works so you can coach your hosts is to go to margo.me/videos/. There is an video called “Creating a Guest List” that allows you to see each step of their process. Once I explain how easy it is and share that I’ll be sending them everything to their guests for them – they get excited.

5. Let your hosts know about the white pages benefit. The biggest excuse I use to hear from hosts when it came to the guest list is… “I don’t have addresses for everyone.” When I tell them that I use a system that is going to automatically help them generate addresses within a 30 mile radius, it handles that objection.

6. Utilize the Social Gram feature. A marGo SocialGram is a themed image that includes the party basics, such as party date, host name and shopping link. This is ideal for your hosts to share via text, email or as a post on Social Media. And you can utilize this feature with one click. Even more exciting is that it's automatically sent to your host with instructions on how to use it.

7. Use marGo for scheduling posts on Facebook events. marGo is fantastic for Facebook events, including virtual parties (meaning guests are on Facebook with you at a scheduled time). You can upload posts and images and schedule them to post on an event at a certain time. This allows you to have more interaction with guests throughout the party. You can concentrate on them and their questions instead of worrying about the next post.

Even if your Facebook events aren’t virtual, meaning they are open for days or weeks at a time, it’s so nice to schedule posts so that you can do all of the work at one time. It reminds me of the famous rotisserie infomercial phrase. “Set It and Forget It!”.

We'd love to hear from you! Let us know if these tips have been helpful and what steps you take to help your host have a successful party.
