Here's how to PREPARE, CREATE and AUTOMATE your promotions.
1. Spend time planning and preparing the promotions you plan to offer for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and/or Cyber Monday.
Aren't sure what to offer? Here are some things to keep in mind…
- Promotions do not have to include large discounts. Promotions can include the opportunity to be a part of a drawing or include a special bonus.
- What popular items do you have that work well together? Create a holiday bundle package! Offering things in a set makes it easy for people to order. “I'll take Combo #1, please!”
- Create a sense of urgency. Offer a discount for a limited time OR to the first 5 people who order.
- Keep it simple. Promotions that are easy to understand are best. Also, be sure to provide concise and clear ordering instructions.
2. If you haven't done so already, create a VIP Group and invite customers and friends to join your group for exclusive tips and specials.
Here's a tip: Be sure to customize the name of your group so that the URL isn't just a bunch of random numbers. To customize, go to settings and change the web address (see below). Once customized, share the link so others can request to join. Do NOT add people to your group without their permission.
3. Before posting your Black Friday/Cyber Monday Specials, share content posts in your group that offer value to your customers.
- Teach them something.
- Inspire them with a creative idea.
- Make them laugh with a funny video.
- Ask questions so that they engage as soon as they join your group.
- Create a buzz about your upcoming specials by posting a sneak peak.
All of these things increase the reach of your posts and increase loyalty among your fans and followers.
4. Create your posts and schedule them. Set a reminder for yourself or use a scheduling tool like Buffer, Hootsuite or Cinchshare.
