5 Reasons to Use Evernote

Evernote Course

Evernote. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Maybe you have it, but aren’t sure how to use it? Maybe it has transformed your business?

The most important tasks you have in your business are those that help you reach your goals. Those tasks typically include people-work, not paper-work. For example, calling your leads, host coaching and making customer care calls is going to have the greatest impact.

But, let me see if this sounds familiar. You sit down to make calls and you have to FIND the contact information you need. But, your work space is cluttered with receipts, prize drawing slips and post-it notes. You know you have people to follow-up with, but can’t remember who they are. And you wrote down notes from the last time you made calls, but can’t find the notes. Or, you have some free time while waiting at an appointment, but can’t make any calls, because the contact information is at home or in a file on your computer.

Sound familiar?

Let me share 5 ways Evernote can impact your business.

1. It’s a place for everything. You can store notes, contact information, emails, images, audio messages, receipts, warranty information, lead lists, checklists, templates and more in Evernote. And it’s not just for business. Use it to store your children’s school papers, medical information, gift lists and grocery lists. Evernote handles it all.

2. It’s accessible from everywhere. Using the web version or Evernote app allows you to access your information from any device. Easily look up information and share it with others right from your phone.

3. Share information by email or as a public link. Create a beautiful party invitation, promotions page for your customers or team calendar and share as a link. This link updates as you update the note. You can even use a shorten URL site such as www.bitly.com or www.tiny.cc to customize this link and make it personal to you.

4. Use Evernote’s search and tagging features to find things easily. This feature is great for following up with leads. Tag customers by lead type or month and when you do a search, all of the information is at your fingertips.

5. Share information with others even if they don’t use Evernote. Let’s say you’re creating some training articles for your team. Create them as separate notes and with one click you can merge those notes and create a table of contents. This table of contents includes links to all of the other notes you created. So team members do not have to join or learn Evernote to access the information. They simply click on the links.

In a nutshell, if you are using Evernote consistently it will help you be more organized, more effective and more efficient. It's a tool that can help you declutter your workspace, communicate more effectively and provide better follow-up. If these things will help you get closer to your goals, then I HIGHLY recommend Evernote.
