Skyrocket Your Sales with Product Bundles

This month we've been sharing ways to make the most of your holiday selling season. But, there is one strategy that will increase your sales every season of the year.

When I started my direct sales business I had the belief that people would only buy what they could see. So there I was lugging EVERY product I owned to every home party and every vendor event.

I was convinced that the more you showed, the more you sold. So when my sales were low, I was frustrated. My product line was heavy and bulky and it felt like a lot of work for what I was earning per hour.

I realized quickly that less is more. When people have too much to choose from, they typically choose nothing. It's overwhelming to make decisions when so many options are presented. So when I started taking fewer products to my parties and vendor events and focused on specific product bundles, my sales skyrocketed.

Customers want to know which products naturally go together. And when you offer these products in a bundle, it makes it easy for them to decide and easy for them to order.

If you think about it, why do restaurants offer combo choices on their menu? Combos offer a quick way to get everything you want or need and in many cases at a slight discount versus ordering items a la carte.

The great news is that you don't need to offer a discount in order to increase sales. You simply need to explain the value of what you are offering by showcasing why they will benefit from having every product in the set. Product bundles are a great way to increase value and because they include multiple products, they increase your sales.

Here are some examples of product bundles you can put together depending on your product line.

Ask yourself what collection of items you could you put together that they could use to…

  • … create a certain makeup look
  • … complete any outfit
  • … make quick & easy meals
  • … improve their overall health or energy
  • … organize their kitchen, bathroom or office
  • … put together the perfect gift

Your company may already offer these bundles or sets and if so, take time to learn about those products so you can share the features and benefits. If your company does not offer product bundles, you can create your own. For example, if you have a top-selling product, combine it with products that increase its value.

Another tip is to offer bundles at various price points. For example, if you offer a collection or set that is $75, you can offer a deluxe version that includes an additional product or products for $125. Let them know they can order the starter set or deluxe set.

Product bundles will increase your sales for all types of events, including virtual parties, Facebook parties, fundraisers and vendor events.

In any type of event, you want to focus on a key collection or a few key bundles and then emphasize why those collections are a must-have. Your customers will love ordering Combo #1 or 2 with ease and you'll see your sales increase.
