When you are being YOU, you are bringing to the table the one thing that NOBODY else can say about themselves. They are not YOU, and we each have our own superpower. What’s yours???
Being “you”-nique is about learning to be yourself. It’s not about trying to be different, it’s about giving yourself permission to bring all the amazing-ness of YOU into the mix.
If I asked you to think of someone that you know who is “unique,” someone’s face comes to your mind. That person came to your mind, most likely, because there is something distinct about them. Something memorable. They stand out from the crowd in some way.
But really, what makes them “unique” is most likely that they are simply being themselves.
Being unique is not a good or bad thing - it’s a memorable thing. And there is nothing that will grow your business quicker than being memorable!
If this is a new concept to you, it might feel uncomfortable. That’s OK.
Here’s how to step into it slowly.
Start with a bit of self-discovery. Sit back for a moment and think about this question - Who are you? For real. Who are you? It’s so easy to get caught up in thinking about what we think we should be that we lose sight of who we truly are. The funny thing is that who and what we truly are IS what makes us unique.
That’s your superpower.
As you start the new year, I encourage you to do some self-discovery to find the real you. What do others already value in you (that you might not think of as a superpower)? If you can’t come up with anything, ask someone who knows you; they will tell you.
You are a superhero, but to find your superpowers, you have to become both self-aware and non-judgemental. In other words, cut yourself some slack! You are right now taking steps to improve and move toward success just by reading this article, and you are amazing!
